These are four female Cayuga ducks in the wading pool
Thank you to PETSAFE for sending four large boxes of cat toys to ANIMAL RESCUE FOUNDATION. Play therapy is essential and we value your commitment to the betterment of our feral (wild) cats. (See: https://www.petsafe.net/cats)
Thank you to The Binky Foundation for funding the construction of our two new BRIDGES to the Catio! These bridges will last for years and will be able to easily weather extremes in heat and cold. Our Catio stays open 365 days/year.
Thank you to Parran’s Flooring (Leonardtown) for replacing our upstairs carpet and our downstairs hardwood and engineered hardwood floors with a beautiful honey oak waterproof, life-time guaranteed vinyl plank flooring. A special "THANK YOU" for DONATING the floors in two rooms to our animal rescue!
(Sidebar Story: One day, someone left water running and it flooded one of the rooms. Guess what? The floor really is waterproof! We took a wet/dry vac and got everything up in less than 10 minutes!)
ANIMAL RESCUE FOUNDATION is a non-profit [501(c)(3)] organization providing a haven for feral (wild) cats: spaying/neutering, providing veterinarian care, behavior modification and, most of all, forever homes.
ANIMAL RESCUE FOUNDATION has been operating for nine years. It was formally incorporated in 2013 in Virginia, and in 2015 in Maryland.
ANIMAL RESCUE FOUNDATION offers a Catio -- a 12' x 16' x 8' high, fenced, and roofed outside area featuring 30 shelves made of Trex. Fresh sod is put down four times a year so that cats can feel fresh grass beneath their paws. Cats can go into the Catio day or night, 365 days/a year! The shelves are placed at the 2', 4', 6' and 8' heights in such a way as to minimize confrontations.
ANIMAL RESCUE FOUNDATION does not use cages in its rescue. Cats are free to roam the building, or go outside in the Catio and be entertained by the farm animals: ducks, chickens, peacocks, geese, sheep, goats, turkeys and Guinea fowl! Or they can play with the puppies in the building or visit with the Great Pyrenees (who is normally outside protecting the livestock) when she comes in for a meal, a rest, a visit or to join the other pack of dogs. She is a favorite among our cats because of her patience, and gentle spirit.
